Maureen lives in Kilmore, 45 minutes north of Melbourne.

Oil painting lessons commenced in 1987 for two years with local artist Pauline Cross at Eltham. Following that, lessons in oil were taken for 1 year with another local artist, Noella Clohesy at the Diamond Valley Arts Society.  The current love of watercolour began next with Artist Herman Pekel followed by a further two years with Giselle Bolitin Maynard.

Maureen is mainly self taught in the wet on wet style which she finds exciting and challenging. Maureen also enjoys portraiture using pastel, a self taught discipline.

Solo Exhibitions have been held at Eltham, Ivanhoe, Yarrambat, Kilmore and Heathcote.

Maureen’s art has received many awards at both local and metropolitan Art Shows including numerous Best Watercolour, Best Pastel, and Peoples Choice Awards.

Her work sells readily and graces many a wall locally, throughout Victoria, and overseas where her paintings are in collections in Germany, England and the United States.

She exhibits locally and is well known for her loose spontaneous style. She loves a challenge and loves to paint figures, flowers, boats, landscapes, seascapes , buildings  and native birds.

Maureen has taught watercolor to children and adults at the Diamond Valley Arts Society for a number of years.Tuition  at her Kilmore home is a weekly event where mainly watercolour, but also other media are practiced with a group of her regular students. She also runs workshops with the Echuca, Heathcote, Diamond Valley and Kilmore Art Societies.
